

Her writing workshops equip and galvanize writers to raise their writing to the next level. Her popular school presentations combine read-alouds with exposure to the writing process - from idea-making and drafting through revision and publication. Liz is a dynamic and motivational keynote speaker and workshop presenter.

She grew up in Colorado and Wisconsin, and now lives with her family in Austin, Texas.

Liz is on the faculty of the Vermont College of Fine Arts, and is a frequent and popular presenter at schools, libraries and conferences. Other popular picture books include ANOTHER WAY TO CLIMB A TREE, IN THE CANYON, and several others including DEAR SUBSTITUTE and BOB, NOT BOB, which was co-authored with Audrey Vernick. Liz Garton Scanlon is the author of numerous beloved books for young people, including the highly acclaimed, Caldecott-honored picture book ALL THE WORLD, illustrated by Marla Frazee, and her debut novel for middle grade readers, THE GREAT GOOD SUMMER.
